Company & Challenge
Our client is the owner and operator of a photo booth business in Louisiana, specializing in weddings and special events. She wanted a one-page website that succinctly describes her services and excites potential customers with a professional party vibe.
The old website:
- Was flat with no movement or color
- Didn’t utilize the top of the homepage to entice customers with eye-catching imagery or describe what the business is and who it’s for
- Contained broken links and non-clickable buttons
- Photos weren’t formatted properly so important focal points were cut out entirely
Our Solution
Function:
- Switching from DIY GoDaddy website to a WordPress website. This allowed us to include plug-ins (small bits of code designed for specific tasks) to add features like photo galleries and customizable contact forms, and because WordPress is constantly updated and provides a variety of tools and plug-ins for optimizing SEO, WordPress websites tend to rank higher than others in search engine results.
- We optimized and formatted the images. Large images slow down your web pages which creates a less than optimal user experience. Optimizing images is the process of decreasing their file size, using either a plugin or script, which in turn speeds up the load time of the page.
- Fixed all broken links and created an easy to use contact form at the bottom of the page.
Copy:
- We created 3 service boxes, each with a short fun description and matching video or gif so customers can see the photo booths in action.
- The old site made it hard to find location information so we increased local SEO by strategically using the location name(s) throughout the site.
- The old site used too-broad language that visitors gloss right over. For example, instead of saying “professional staff” we used specific, vivid copy explaining that “attendants will arrive in uniform 1 hour before the event start time.”
- The contact form on the previous site simply said “contact us” while the new site gives visitors a fun tagline “Let’s get this party started” and follows up with a button featuring a clear call to action so the customer knows exactly what action to take next “Reserve a booth.”
Design:
- Movement is a huge focus of the new website. The photo booths are interactive and we needed people to experience them so we included lots of video and gifs making website visitors feel like part of the action.
- Include testimonials as social proof that past customers have loved the service.
- The client wanted to use a color palette of black, gold and rose gold. We created gleaming backgrounds and used glittery icons and details to give an overall evening party look.
- To excite website visitors right away, the hero image is a video the business shot of the staff setting up for an event. It’s the perfect way to illustrate the professionalism of the business and help potential customers imagine what their own special event could look like. Placing an animated background in the font used for the business name was the final touch.
Bringing it all together:
- The new photo booth website captures the energy and trendsetting. Atmosphere that clients attribute to this business with modern images and sparkling design elements.
- It’s visually appealing and easy to navigate with clear descriptions of services that connect with website visitors and encourage them to take action.
