Case Study: Rustic Family Friendly RV Park Website With Online Booking
Company & Challenge
Our client is the owner and operator of an RV park in the Missouri Ozarks – Mountain View RV Park. He purchased the campground from the original owner when the park was in disrepair. Our client requested a one-page website that highlights the RV park’s new image, showcasing all of the new modern amenities and renovations.
Our Solution
Function:
- A professional WordPress website. This allowed us to include plug-ins (small bits of code designed for specific tasks) to add features like photo galleries and a customizable contact form, and because WordPress is constantly updated and provides a variety of tools and plug-ins for optimizing SEO, WordPress websites tend to rank higher than others in search engine results.
- At the top of the homepage, we used eye-catching, panoramic video footage of the Ozarks so website visitors can imagine themselves traveling to the area. This works well for the desktop version, but on mobile devices we opted to replace the video with a beautiful landscape image because videos are large files and can slow a website’s loading speed. If a site takes too long to load, people will click off before they’ve even viewed it.
- Embedded booking software so guests can easily and quickly book reservations.
- Because it’s a one-page website, we created an anchor menu so visitors can quickly jump to the section of the site they want to view without having to scroll through the whole page.
Copy:
- Because the RV park is a location-dependent business, meaning it provides service to people in only one geographic location, we used location specific keywords in the copy to help Google recommend this website to people searching for campgrounds in our client’s area.
- We highlighted the aspects of the RV park that set it apart from competitors by focusing on words and images that showcase their many amenities like a saltwater pool, game room and general store.
- Visually appealing short bullet points with corresponding images let visitors know exactly what types of accommodations are offered.

A study found that 94% of negative website feedback was design related.
Design:
- Our client’s logo is a cartoon of several colorful RVs in the woods. We maintained the brand identity with the use of complementary icons and color palette.
- The fonts have a rustic, farmhouse vibe but are easy to read.
- Friendly cartoon icons provide an amusing way to tell people about the important aspects of the business without writing a boring long paragraph that few people will read. Even skimmers will see important features: the park is family owned, extremely clean, and has remodeled showers and bathrooms.
Bringing it all together:
- The RV park website gives the business an online presence and captures the rustic modern tone that clients attribute to this business with professional images and sparkling design elements. It’s fun, cheerful and easy to navigate with clear descriptions of amenities, accommodations and area attractions enticing website visitors to book a stay.
