Examples for 2023

By Kristie Parker

Think of an effective website like a well-designed room. Sure, it looks gorgeous, but it’s also got to, well, work. Kind of like how that modern coffee table isn’t just trendy – it’s also the perfect height for your late-night Netflix binge. The same goes for websites. They’ve got to lure you in with stunning design, then make it super easy for you to do what you came there to do.

In this post, we’re taking a close look at some of the best interior design websites of 2023. They’re more than just eye candy; they really hit the mark in engaging their audience and showcasing the designer’s work without overdoing the “cool” factor.

Let’s see who’s nailing it.

Studio 790

Why We Like This Website:

Studio 790 absolutely nails it when it comes to messaging. Not only do they tell us that they “create approachable spaces that invite you to love where you live, play and work” they show us.

The portfolio photos are fun, playful and colorful. And the copy lets us know they totally get where their audience coming from: “Go from, “I’m sorry our home looks like this” to “Let me pour you a glass of champagne and give you a tour of our home!”

Why We Like This Website:

Of course we’re biased – we designed this one! But we had to feature Interior Elegance because of the simple navigation and lux vibe. It’s easy to find what you’re looking for with services boxes on the homepage categorizing their offerings. The mostly neutral color palette with well-placed accents in on-trend teal evoke calming serene feelings in website visitors and match the company’s aesthetic perfectly.

Why We Like This Website:

Gathered gives us compelling Before & After pictures so we can see their skills in action. More than just a single shot of each project, they take us on a whole house tour showcasing everything from the front porch to the work-from-home office and everything in between. Not only is the interior design gorgeous, but the staging of the photos is impeccable too rivaling any high-end magazine spread.

Why We Like This Website:

Minimalist, classy and contemporary, we can determine Elizabeth Bolognino’s style immediately. She gives us no more than the essentials on the homepage which are just inviting enough to keep us exploring her site which includes a shop and stunning portfolio which she thoughtfully categorizes by NYC neighborhood.

Why We Like This Website:

Sure we’re suckers for bungalows, but that’s not the only reason Bohemian Bungalow Design made the list. In a sea of neutrals, these bold jewel tones and one-of-a-kind wallpaper really makes this website stand out. Her services page features an offering we haven’t seen anywhere else, virtual design specifically for airbnb rentals. She provides great visuals showing website visitors floor plans, shopping lists and the finished product.

Why We Like This Website:

Ok while I do think this website would benefit from using larger images overall this one made the list because they do one thing really well: they know how to speak to their audience. Your website shouldn’t be all about the designer. People want to hear what you can do for them. Affordable Interior Design lets us know that they share industry discounts with clients and that their service only takes 2 weeks and 4 easy steps. They know how to get potential clients excited to work with them.

Why We Like This Website:

This one’s a no-brainer. Studio McGee is much more than an interior design company it’s become a recognizable brand. The site is clean and minimal with luxurious fonts. They feature a video on the homepage of the virtual design team working through the step-by-step process of transforming your space so potential clients can visualize exactly what it would be like to hire them.

Why We Like This Website:

This one makes us smile. Exactly has a niche, delightful midcentury modern interior design and they know how to lean into it. The shapes and colors match the brand and the testimonials are short and sweet, so website visitors actually read them. At the bottom of the homepage they display their latest blog posts with beautiful imagery enticing us to linger longer.
